Translation of a letter from Mohomed bin Subah Al-bin-Ali
to His Highness Shaikh Sir Hamad bin Isa Al-JChalifah..
dated 7th Shawaal 1357. 9
After compliments:
I inform your Highness that at tho end of Romadhnn
Jabr Musallom approached us with a petition which Your
Highness must have seen, and asked U3 to sign, Because
wo know well that the writing of petitions is forbidden
by Government proclamations issued every year and on the
other side we do not find that Jabr Musallam has suoh
authority 03 to be obeyed, we did not do it. We only
obey the orders of our beloved Rulef and acknowledge oun
allegiance to him only, But we heard that somebody
talked ill of us before Your Highness. We are sure of
our allegiance to Your Highness and your confidence in us
and know well the pledges between us. We also acknowledge
your good help to us which will not be forgotten except
by one who is not manly and has no conscience, We did
not care for such lies but we still hear that somebody
talk of us something which is not said or done by us.
Therefore we request Your Highness to present us before
the false informer and then the whole thing can be disco
vered by taking an oath 'Yarain al Talaq' (which if it is
taken by anyone against the fact his wife will become
divorced). If it is found that we have taken part or
signed any document in connection with the recent move-
ment we are to be blamed, Curse be on tho man who shows
two faces, We write this letter so that Your Highness
should not believe what is said of us. May you be pre-
served, dated 7th Shawaal 1357
Sealed/ Mohd. bin Subah
