With reference to my telegram No. 765 of the 22nd of

as,my observation goes I can generally confir/n what he.^ays,
except that in ono instance fire by a dotachmont of Polioo,
which they appeared to begin on their own .initiative}, had-the
useful offect of bringing to an end the stoning by a seotion
of the crowd of a group of women and children who were escaping
from another part of the route.
2. Sir Charles Belgrave has discussed with mo various ways

3. The most significant feature of these events is, as Mr. Wall
