THE DEMANDS SUBMITTED BY THE PEOPLE OF BAHRAIN
TO HIS HIGHNESS THE RULER WITH THE REQUEST THAT
HE MAY ORDER THEIR BEING PUT TO REALITY.
1. The formation of un Advisory Council by means of
free elections to represent the people, equally betv/een
the Sunhies und the Shiahs. The powers of this Council
are to look into the internal affairs of the country in
general and to make rules and regulations to be submitted
to His Highness for ratification or reversal with expla
nations.
2. The formation of a committee of legal experts to
make a public law for the country to cater its needs and
traditions, which should be submitted to the Advisory
Council viz. the Committee that would truely represent
the people, for ratification.
3. The amelioration and the reorganisation of the law
Courts and the appointment of efficient judges who should
be holders of law degrees from a University with judicial !
experience under the recognised laws. Those judges should
be brought from outside if they are not available locally.
4. To make free elections for the formation of councils
for the muncipalities, health and education.
5. The amelioration of the Security Departments and
the concentraion of the responsibility on one person whouId
should be held responsible for anything that may hapLJen
to disturb the peace.
6. The compensation to the relatives, from both parties,
of those afflicted by the incidents that took place since
the 10th Muharram, 1373 and the issue of an amnesty for those
imprisoned and expelled.
7. The punishment of those responsible for shooting at
the people by the Police on Thursday the 3.0th Shawal,1373.
