FOLLOWING from Bushirc yesterday :—
“According to reports received from Residency Agent, a Bahrein subject has beeu
Hogged, imprisoned by Deputy Governor of Lingah, who is in the hands of Russian*N-
[t.1ue<» °1 Turkish Agents, and ,refuses to accept our Agent's
intervention in behalf of Bahreinis at all. &
“ Can you not now recommend Iiis Majesty’s Government, to authorize our insisting
on full protection of Bahreinis ? My failuro to do so is weakening to my authority as
Resident for Arab coast.
“ (Addressed to Legation ; scut to India.) "
1 fear no action here would have any oftcct, and I wovdd suggest that Cox should
be authorized to take [? moderate] action locally.
