1, SITUATION
a. Eneny Forooa
Diaturbancca are likely to be caused by:-
(1) Political demonstrations. Against the Ruling Family or BRITISH
influence or both; dynastic strife on the death of the pronont
Ruler.
(2) Racial or Religloua antagonisms. E.g. between the SHIA anA SUNNI
factiona during MJHARRAMr
(3) Labour Unreat. Disputes and strikes with BAPCO,
(li-) Outbreaks of Anti-European Feeling. From limited war operations
elsewhcro in the MIDDLE EAST, e.g. as after SUEZ 1956.
(5) Subvorulon by Foreign Powers. Interference by SAUDI ARABIA or
PERSIA. Money and propaganda from EGYPT may well instigate sub
para (i) above.
