REGIONS NORTHEAST
Sire Archon Ronal Butler
The Northeast Region has been actively engaged in reaching out to our Archons in our member boulés and their communities. Like all Regions, we were impacted by the pandemic, but our member boulés, as well as the REC managed to switch from our in-person meetings to virtual meetings.
As the Regional Sire, I’ve focused on the problems in the Region and adopted the following as my theme:
“Focusing our vision on strengthening our member boulés,
our Region and our communities during these changing times.”
Some of our committees that are leading the charge for our Region are as follows:
Bylaws – The basic operating processes of each member boulé are dictated by their bylaws. It is necessary for each member boulé to submit their bylaws for approval by the Grand Boulé.
Strategic Plan – In order to implement the member boulé’s vison, it’s critical for each member boulé to have a Strategic Plan that aligns with the Region’s, as well as the Grand Boulé’s Strategic Plan.
Social Action – Our focus is to work within our communities to develop actionable plans that im- pact us. These initial tasks were focused on various aspects of voter awareness, voter training, etc.
Men’s Health – The goal is to provide Archons with information to help with issues that impact us, such as Prostate Cancer awareness and prevention. As a result of the pandemic, we’ve pivoted to expand that initial goal to include COVID-19 and its impact on minorities.
I originally planned to travel to each member boulé throughout the Region (including England) to work to remove friction within the Region; however, the pandemic has prevented that from happe- ning. Instead, I’ve participated as a panelist in various member boulé’s webinars on topics such as education, student scholarships, voter awareness, COVID-19, etc. In addition, I will attend the Region’s virtual monthly member boulé meetings to discuss effective processes that need to be implemented to work through the Region’s issues that have caused us so many internal conflicts.
