                                 We often think of these as distracting individuals. It's important to remember these are simply behaviors of individuals. We want to be clear that we are labeling the behavior not people.
As you read through these behaviors consider when you participated in each
Distracting Duos
These two engage in private side conversations, looks, and body language that distract and often annoy other participants.
Know It All
This individual comments frequently and tends to dominate discussions. They tend to be the first to speak on each issue and make statements that are confident and unbending, and spotlights their knowledge whether it adds value to the conversation or not.
Debate Devotee
These individuals love a good debate, and will often maintain an opposing viewpoint for fun. They resist developing and committing to shared solutions. When there are two or more Debate Devotees in a meeting their love of debate can monopolize a discussion and lead those who are not drawn to debate to disengage from the discussion.

Mute Multi-Tasker
This behavior frequents virtual meetings. The Mute Multi- Tasker misses content because they are multi-tasking during the meeting. Who hasn’t been a Mute Multi-Tasker at times?
Class Clown
The class clown adds to the
group with humor and antics. It

The Virtual World is
but it can diminish and deflect when difficult points need to be discussed. If another individual has shared something sensitive and true to them, a class clown reaction may distract and diminish their point of view.
Bouncing Border Collie
This individual has a hard time sitting still and listening. They may present as agitated, active, bouncing from one thing to another, fiddling with materials, checking their phone, checking out and looking around the room.
