Key Accomplishments:
$1.4 M grant to build Camden Regional Trail, from Marshall to Camden. The grant was
competitive; the DNR received nearly $47 million in Legacy grant requests for parks and
trails that year, while only $7.5 million was given out. This was a complex process of
combining multiple sources of funding, multiple agencies working together and proposing
a plan acceptable to all stakeholders. This project is going to provide recreational
opportunities to a great number of families.
