               a compressed air manifold. A row of bags is cleaned by a

               short burst of compressed air injected through the

               compressed air manifold (also called blow pipe or purge

               pipe).




















































               the short burst of compressed air creates a rapidly moving air

               bubble (shock wave) which results in flexing of the bags. This

               flexing of the bags breaks the dust cake, and the dislodged
