COUNTY COMMENT %u2022 April 2025 13CONNECTING KANSAS COUNTIESOn March 12, KAC Local Road Engineer Darryl Lutz presented at the Riley County 2025 Township Officials meeting held at Pottorf Hall at Cico Park in Manhattan. There were 27 Township officials and 7 maintenance personnel representing 13 of the 14 Townships in Riley County, along with 21 Riley County representatives and 3 speakers/guests.(From left to right) Bruce Chladny, KAC Executive Director; Sean Wendel, Gray County Road Supervisor; Randy Blehm, Meade County Public Works Administrator; and Darryl Lutz, KAC Local Road Engineer posed for a quick photo at the March 18 Meade County Township meeting. Bruce spoke with attendees to gauge their interest in the creation of a Kansas organization for township officials. Darryl introduced his role as Local Road Engineer and encouraged attendees to take advantage of Kansas LTAP training. Randy Blehm (standing to the right), Meade County Public Works Administrator, is leading a discussion on a proposed windfarm project across northern Meade County. This Township meeting was held at the Meade Chuckwagon Restaurant in Meade on March 18.
