WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT NURSE RECRUITMENT AND
RETENTION
WE SUPPORT NURSING THROUGH THICK AND THIN
“ Dana (Shook) is always responsive and does what she can to help us. We have brought in
many new nurses this year and she has been a great help.
~ Amy Allen (5B CND)
Kathie (Krebs) is quick, thorough, and efficient in her partnership
with CVC5. Kathie reaches out if an applicant has the experience that
aligns with the qualifications of my postings and puts the applicant “
on our radar. She has found us two excellent employees this FY. We
greatly appreciate her partnership.
~ Caleb McCord (CVC 5 CND)
“ James (Diesing) has been instrumental in serving the PA and NP professions, both
singularly with recruiting and more holistically with hiring and processing the hiring of
APP Managers. He has met with APP leaders and helped them not only settle into their
roles, but also went above and beyond in orienting them to wolverine access including
getting them the needed access. James has a fantastic attitude. He is approachable,
knowledgeable, and has excellent follow through.
~ Stanley Mukundi (Advanced Practice Provider DIRECTOR- PA, Service Line C)
“ Gayle (York)
Thanks Gayle for all of the mentoring and support of my new
supervisors. You are very flexible and willing to pivot whenever
you can. There have been some challenging cases this year and
you were knee deep and helped us reach resolutions.
~ Irene Turkewyz (Nursing Services Sr Director- Cancer Center)
Teressa (Vanderford) is one of the most helpful and positive employees that I have
“ otherwise), and she is timely, will jump on a call and help me at short notice, and she does so
encountered at Michigan Medicine. I frequently go to her with questions (HR, recruitment and
in such a positive manner. If she doesn’t have an answer, (which is rare) she will point me in
the right direction. I never feel like I am bothering her. She is truly one of my top resources in
this institution.
~ Tami Szuba (ACS Nursing Supervisor)
