2023: SUSTAINING MAGNET® RE-DESIGNATION
In March 2022, University of Michigan Health achieved ANCC
Magnet® designation for the second time, sharing this honor with
570 institutions world-wide, and aligning nursing strategic goals to
improve patient outcomes. As a Magnet® designated organization,
Michigan Medicine nurses have autonomy to provide nursing
excellence in patient care and disseminate effective strategies and
practices globally.
Magnet® organizations outperform other hospitals in both recruiting
and retaining nursing professionals, resulting in lower staff turnover.
Yearly focused retention strategies provide Michigan nurses
education and development opportunities throughout their career
and contribute to the goal of maintaining Magnet® status in the
future.
