NURSES WEEK 2022 - ROOTED IN STRENGTH
NURSES WEEK IS BACK IN FULL SWING!
Over 1,400 U-M nurses participated in the Nurses Week program that was offered by Nurse Recruitment
and Retention in 2022. We were able to bring back some in-person offerings which provided much needed
face-to-face interaction between nurses and presenters which had been missing for two years. Nurses were
able to gain new knowledge as well as network with colleagues in a welcoming environment conducive to
learning.
The Nurses Week program offered four certification review courses, five lectures with continuing education
credits and two offerings for CE and Certification gift cards.
Nurses Week offerings are selected each year using annual needs assessments, previous nurses week
surveys and institutional initiatives. It is the goal of the program to offer a wide range of learning
opportunities so that nurses from every specialty can find something that would be beneficial to their
practice. One of the offerings this year was Implicit Bias, an institutional and regulatory requirement for
Registered Nurses.
These annual programs are important for staff retention and promote continuous learning and development
for all of our nurses.
