Global Warming
Causes and predictions of global warming
There are various gases that cause global warming. Among them, carbon dioxide is the gas with the greatest
impact on global warming. Since the Industrial Revolution, the use of fossil fuels has increased, and as a result,
the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has also increased.
The IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (2014) announced that the average temperature in 2100 would rise by up to
4.8 ° C in the worst-case scenario, with the highest greenhouse gas emissions.
Currently, the average temperature of the earth is around 14 centidegree, but if there are no greenhouse gases
such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, and methane in the atmosphere, it will be around -19 ° C.
This is because the light that falls on the earth from the sun passes through the atmosphere of the earth and
warms the ground, and the greenhouse gas absorbs the heat radiated from the surface of the earth and warms
the atmosphere.
In recent years, industrial activities have become active, and as a result of the increased emission of greenhouse
gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, and chlorofluorocarbons, the concentration in the atmosphere and the
absorption of heat have increased, the temperature has begun to rise. .. This is global warming.
As global warming progresses, it will hurt agriculture (deterioration of rice quality due to high temperature),
further worsen water shortage (drought due to increased days when it does not rain), and ecosystem (early
flowering of plants due to rising temperature). There are various effects such as intensification of disasters
(flood inundation due to increased heavy rain, sediment disaster due to torrential rain), heat stroke, and increase
in infectious diseases.
Measures (mitigation measures) for global warming are ...
a Thorough energy saving and power saving, introduction of renewable energy, promotion of greening.
a Introduction of eco-driving and electric vehicles, conversion of private cars to public transportation.
a Reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with waste incinerator by promoting waste separation.
a Properly fill, recover, and dispose of fluorocarbons to control the emission of fluorocarbons into the
atmosphere.
a Control the room temperature during cooling with 28 centidegree as a guide.
“Let's contribute to global warming countermeasures by each and every one of our efforts and actions to save
energy! "
