                                 A study states that by

                        2050, around 95% of North
                        Jakarta will be submerged. The

land surface in North Jakarta has
fallen by 2.5 m in 10 years and in

some parts continues to fall by 25
cm annually. This decrease is the

impact of rising sea levels caused

                        by climate change. Rising sea
levels occur due to melting of

polar ice caps and due to global
                        warming.

                        1. Causes of Global Warming

There are various sources that cause global warming, the following

                            include:
                            1. Methane gas pollution from agriculture, plantations, and livestock.

                            2. Emissions of greenhouse gases and fossil fuels that cause soil
                                pollution.

                            3. Excessive use of CFCs in cooling devices, for example air
                                conditioners, fans, and refrigerators.

                            4. Excessive carbon dioxide gas from motor vehicle pollution.

                            5. Exhaust gas or waste gas from large industries that are not equipped
                                with air filters.

                            6. Excessive use of electrical energy.
                            7. Excessive burning.

                            8. Forest damage due to excessive felling of trees and burning of land.
