                           C. GLOBAL WARMING

Look at the picture of ice melting at the

February 15, 2019. Melting ice in Greenland and
Antarctica affects the stability of ocean currents

and airflow patterns throughout the country.
This melting of ice usually occurs when the two

regions experience a summer which normally
lasts for 5.5 months in Greenlad from May 13 to

October 28 and lasts for 2 months in Antarctica,

Antarctica from mid-November to mid-January. However,
with the recent uncertain climate, the melting of
Source: Greeners.Co ice does not only take place during the dry

                        season during that time.

Do you know why that could happen? What impact does this
incident have on our daily lives? Let's learn and practice the knowledge

gained as a form of gratitude for God's grace to study the material in this

                        chapter.

Do you know? A study states that by 2050

around 95% of North Jakarta will be

submerged. The soil surface in North Jakarta

has fallen by 2.5 meters in 10 years and in some

parts it continues to fall by 25 cm annually. This

decrease is the impact of rising sea levels caused

by climate change. Rising sea levels occur due

to melting ice in Antarctica and due to global
                                                warming (global warming).
