What do you know about
nano and nanotechnology?
With the development of time and technology, all areas of life are
progressing as well. Technology plays a role in supporting the creation or
development of a product. With the existence of nanotechnology can
bring up new ideas that can be useful for humans in various fields. What
exactly is nanotechnology? How is nanotechnology applied in everyday
life? What are some examples of products that utilize nanotechnology?
And how is nanotechnology related to green chemistry?
The word nano comes from the Greek word meaning dwarf. Its size
is one thousandth of a million or one billionth. When compared to the
meter size, one nanometer (nm) is equal to 10-9 m. Very small isn't it?
This nano size is used in engineering technology so it is known as
nanotechnology. The term emerged in 1974 when Norio Taniguchi stated
that materials could be controlled and engineered down to sizes smaller
than micrometers.
