properties through a nano-sized molecule or structure. These new
properties can be used to create a new technology.
Nanotechnology is involved in combining atoms or ions into
molecules to form structures in the order of nanometers that are useful
for producing goods in everyday life. Of course nanotechnology also
carries out processes such as chemical reactions to form liquid or solid
substances such as ceramics, polymers, and metals that are arranged
(manipulated) in such a way as to produce new chemical or physical
properties.
1. Examples of Nanotechnology in Daily Life
With the development of technology and the development of the
times, currently nanotechnology is often used in various devices and
materials in everyday life. Nanotechnology is used to improve the quality
of various products used in everyday life. A common property of this
technology is the physical effect of atoms at the nanoscale after the
properties of the material. Here are some examples of nanotechnology
in everyday life:
a. Information Technology Sector
In Indonesia, there are now around 60 million mobile phone
users. Nanotechnology has improved the capabilities and
performance of mobile phone components such as ICs, display
screens, memory, antennas, batteries and others so that they appear
more compact but more sophisticated. Other electronic devices such
as computers have also undergone the same evolution.
An example of the use of nanotechnology is in the
manufacture of Lithium ion batteries with nanotechnology. Lithium
ion batteries are seen as a promising energy store because of their
high cell voltage, power density, and high energy. Nanotechnology
will be able to increase the capacity and safety of lithium ion
batteries. Especially through the optimization of electro and
