6.0 Learning ecosystem and its constituencies

Any learning ecosystem is composed of people, processes, tools, and technology enabling and supporting
the learning development function. Thus, for a strong connection to take place there should be the
establishment of dynamic learning management which espouses blended learning. According to
               Hannon et al (2011:16)

“is a vision of education driven by engagement as much as by institutions, where learning
takes place in a variety of environments ( and people do not assume that they cease to be learners
                when they become adults )”.

Face to face learning should aim to place the learner at the center through utilizing the 6cs which are
collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, choice, and care for the learners while also
taking into cognizance the constructivist view where we allow learners to construct knowledge through
self- discovery. The use of technology in the learning ecosystem allows for the alleviation of cost in
providing education for the learning ecosystem. As envisaged during this corona virus period information
has become more available through the paperless soft copy materials of electronic books and tutorials.
In support of the latter Hannon et al (2011:15) says,

“Harnessing digital technology need not entail extra expense to schools using free resources like
khan academy in order to teach shortage subjects can save money. South Korea is on track to
replace all textbooks with digitized materials by 2015”.
