ACTIVITY 9 Building Greater Sentences
Combine these short sentences into one sentence. You can add new words and move words around,
but you should not add or omit any ideas. More than one answer is possible, but all of these sentences
require both the passive and the active voice.
1. a. Human sleep patterns are regulated by exposure to light.
b. Light is recognized by a part of the brain.
c. This part of the brain tells people that it is time to be awake.
2. a. There is a new material for making clothes.
