ACTIVITY 11 Original Writing
On a separate sheet of paper, write a process paragraph (at least six sentences) about
adjusting to a new situation or adapting to a new culture. Use at least one gerund and
one infinitive and underline them; try to use more if possible.
Here are some examples of how to begin.
• Moving to a new country often requires learning a new language and adjusting to
new customs.
• Students who are in college for the first time need to follow three steps to adapt to
the new responsibilities going to college brings.
• After finishing college, recent graduates who have found full-time jobs will need to
adjust to their new lifestyle.
