Tic Tac Joe

This here’s the story of Tic Tac Joe

And how he earned his name
He did it all by himself

So there’s no one else to blame

Seems he had a bit much to drink one night

                                             And found some cattle stranded
He sat down twice on his red hot iron

And that’s how he got branded.

In summers crossing of old muddy
Bout half way through the trip

                                                  Joe was shedding close
Said, boys lets take a dip.

Bout that time circle J rode up

And stood off by the clover

That's when Joe dropped his hat
And that’s why he bent over.

The setting sun was wide and low

                                             An fading down through Texas
But you could see the great divide

And on both side was X’s

Circle J’s foreman Cody bill was smiling

I guess he said it best.
The game they favor in their spare time

Was the royal game of chess
