ITALIAN REDS

#3.KW8 2016 Giovanni Rosso Barolo Del Comune di Serralunga d’Alba / Nebbiolo DOCG Piedmont
Giovanni Rosso is a family-owned estate who have been growing grapes in the Comune of Serralunga d’Alba since the 1890’s, including the Crus of
Cerretta and Serra. During the 1980’s, Giovanni Rosso restructured the vineyards with the aim of producing the best possible wines, and in 2001,
Giovanni’s son Davide took charge of winemaking, following his own mantra “wine should be a perfect copy of its terroir”.

“Here’s a sexy and supple edition of Serralunga. Raspberry, strawberry, and cherry, a dusting of cocoa, almond and spice, floral too, with a mint/aniseed top
note. Medium to full-bodied, stroked with fine suede-like tannin, a charming ‘mineral’ and tea component, long and laced with cherry and light chalky tannin
as it goes. It’s a lovely wine, showing the vintage and easy charm of this producer to full effect. Gary Walsh-95 Points The Wine Front

#5.KW9 2016 Chiara Boschis Barolo Via Nuovo / Nebbiolo DOCG Piedmont
“In my opinion, the 2016 Barolo Via Nuova is the single greatest Barolo Chiara Boschis has made in her storied career. A monumental, thrilling wine, the Via
Nuova captures all the best the vintage had to give. Explosive in the glass, with stunning aromatic depth, the 2016 is drop-dead gorgeous from the very first
taste. Dark macerated cherry, lavender, spice, menthol and rose petal are kicked up a few notches from underlying veins of acidity and tannin that give the
wine its energy and drive. The 2016 is a wine of extraordinary harmony, purity and finesse with an eternal finish. The 2016 Barolo Via Nuova is a blend of
seven plots: Terlo, Liste, Paiagallo, Ravera di Monforte, Mosconi, Gabutti and Baudana”. 100 points, Antonio Galloni

         #1.LW2 2017 Collavini / Ribolla Giallla Trentino-Alto Adige
The Collavini story starts in 1896. The noble families of Udine were enjoying the Collavini wines. Over the generations the family has stayed involved
and improved on their earlier work.
To clarify, Ribolla Nera is Schioppettino. This wine is from the home of Schioppettino and above all else it is a lovely example of the variety. Dark,
peppery, dense with great acid. It is an elegant and soft wine and therefore will suit people who love wines made from Merlot, Pinot Noir, and/or Shiraz.
It is not a super complex drink, but it is a pleasing drink. Drink it now, drink it in 7 years, it’ll make you happy either way.

         #1.LW2 2017 A.Mano / Primitivo IGT Puglia
There was a time when this wine seemed to be in just about every bistro, new-age wine bar and aspiring Italian restaurant in the country. Unsure where
it went to. Time and place and all that.

Joyful set of ripe, dark berry, plummy, fresh and dried mixed herbs, kirsch-like scents here. Loaded with sweet, ripe fruit but held in check with neat amaro
and herb notes, there’s plenty going on in the slippery palate too, and, importantly, a sheath of tannins narrows and finishes the wine exceptionally well. A
cooler expression of the robust variety, done very well.

#4.KW9 2015 Tua Rita Giusto di Notri IGT Super Tuscan Tuscany
Rita Tua and her husband, Virgilio Bisti, bought approximately 37.5 acres of land in 1984 and planted it with Cabernet and Merlot. They later purchased
an additional 17.5 acres of land, bringing the total estate to 55 acres, of which about 45 are planted with vines. The winery released its first vintage in 1992,
and soon began receiving praise and accolades from wine enthusiasts worldwide for its rich, full-bodied wines. In just five short years, its 100% Merlot
had achieved cult-like status, receiving outstanding ratings from the world’s most prestigious wine critics and publications. Critic Robert M. Parker Jr.
said the 1999 Redigaffi was “as close to perfection as a wine can get.” The following year, he gave the 2000 Redigaffi a perfect 100 score. The winery’s
Bordeaux blend, Giusti di Notri, also garners near-universal praise. Little wonder that Tua Rita’s wines are considered among the most difficult to find in
Italy. Tua Rita is located in Suvereto, a small medieval town in the Tuscan province of Livorno, on the coast south of Bolgheri.

“Here is a high performance wine from Stefano Frascolla and his family. The 2015 Giusto di Notri is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller parts Cabernet
Franc and Merlot. The wine is contemporary, complex and gorgeous from tip to toe. You get a lot of power here and generous oak-driven tones of sweet
espresso, chocolate and spice that surround a succulent core of dark fruit and candied cherry. All these elements appear even bigger and bolder in this warm
         vintage”. Robert Parker 96 Points
