University of Peradeniya. I have been a Pera Rotaractor for

This year, my vision for the club was “Be the Exception”. As

one of the Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220, I wanted

to make sure that Rotaract Pera will be in a place where all

the Rotaractors in the District are eager to see what is

                                                                                                                                                                   happening.

In my term, we co-hosted the 30th Rotaract District Conference; even though it felt like a huge

responsibility at the time, now I feel extremely delighted about our decision. The initial plan was to

hold the event in the City of Kandy for the first time after 12 years, but with the pandemic situation,

we had to conduct it virtually.

During the year, the club was able to achieve many milestones, recognition from peers and several

achievements, none of them would have been possible without the support of the amazing team I

worked with. I am grateful to my Secretary Rtr. Tharana Wasalaarachchi, Immediate Past President

Rtr. Lahiru Dissanayake, Board of Directors and the Club Members for the continuous commitment MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

and dedication they showcased and the support extended to me throughout the year. I must

mention our senior treasurer and the staff advisor Dr. B.M.K. Pemasiri, who has always been there to

support and guide us whenever we needed it. I am very thankful to our parent club, the Rotary Club

of Kandy, for supporting us in every way possible. I am very thankful to my editorial team led by Rtr.

Roshana Fouzie, Rtr. Nipuni Jayasinghe and Rtr. Supipi Wijesundara for compiling this annual report

and Rtr. Matheesha Pahankara, Rtr. Sawan Mapalagama, Rtr. Nimnad Mihiranga for making sure that

it highlights all the memories we cherish so dearly.

I’m also extremely grateful to our parents and loved ones for tolerating all the late-night zoom calls

with so much noise and putting up with our sudden and unexplainable disappearances. My sincere

                                              apologies for all the trouble.

Finally, this message is to all the Rotaractors out there! Rotaract is a place where you can really be

yourself. So keep no regrets and be the exception!
