BASEL CHRONICLES | EDITORIAL | APRIL 2021
Israelites' sinned against God, He saved
their lives because He had promised
them whom He had chosen as His
nation, to give them the inheritance of the
promised land of Canaan.
The cross of Jesus Christ is a tool of life.
The instrument and grace of God Himself
to sinners, who have lost their fellowship
with God, because of their sinful lives, is
the sacricial life of Jesus Christ,
weighed on the Crucixion. A sinful life is
to lose the life that God has given us.
Cross is gloried today. But the cross
brought death to Jesus. He was crucied
and had to be cursed because of the sins
of human beings, though he was not wor-
thy of the curse. The Cross was cursed,
but by Christ, the cross had a prominent
place in worship, in Christian churches,
and for historical reasons. But we have
to look unto the cross to save our lives; to
come out of our present sinful condition,
and not be part of evil, but be ready to
bear the cross. Therefore, Good Friday
calls us to die with Christ. Always invites
us to be part of the battle for His new
creation.
2. The orgulous of the unjust and the
death of the cross: Almost all of the
Gospels observe the special exaltation of
the suffering, death, and resurrection of
Jesus Christ. The context of Jesus' death
is given in Matthew 27th chapter. The
Crucixion of Jesus is the result of his
voice over and against his contemporary
social, political, and religious chaos.
