       2. Jesus sets an example of true love.
The agape love of Jesus was self-giving

love. He emptied Himself for the sake of
       people.

       3. Self-giving love is ultimate and the
greatest. Read I. Corinth: 13 chapter-

'Faith, hope, and love stand. But the
greatest among these is love.' Love only

gives fullness of life, meaning, happi-
ness, peace, and solace in life.

       4. Love is the badge or the very identity
       of Christians. Read: 1st John 3:23, 4:7-8,
11-12, 19-21. If our hearts do not melt to

the agony of our neighbours, how does

Christ's love rule our life (1st John 3:16-
17)? Refer to Acts chapters 2,4 and 6,

where it is written how the Church grew
day by day, in leaps and bounds,

because sharing and loving one another,
became a norm in life among the believ-
       ers.

       5. It is in nding true love in our life,

people see Christ in us. It was in Antioch,
the followers of Jesus were named as

'Christians' rst (Acts.11:26). In the sec-
ond century Tertullian, a great Church
Father had written, how the general pub-

lic of his time, thought of Christians. This
is what he wrote: 'Look! how they love

one another...and how they are ready to
       die for each other!'
