INTERNATIONAL PRESERVATION DAY
16 September is observed as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone
Layer. As an educational initiative and a step to prompt, the crusaders of the environment
to start looking after ‘Mother Earth’, a special assembly was organised by class IV students.
Students shared thought provoking articles, sang songs and shared facts related to the history
of this day. They also highlighted the causes and effects of the ozone layer depletion, due to
various activities carried out by humans. The teacher explained the role that all of us can play,
to stop the further depletion of ozone layer. Through this assembly, the students were given
an insight into the importance of the ozone layer and the need to protect this fragile shield of gas
which protects the Earth from the harmful Ultraviolet radiations.
MY EXPERIENCE OF DIGITAL LEARNING
Online learning has become the need of the hour owing to the worldwide pandemic
bringing everything to a temporary halt. After 6 months of online teaching learning process
conducted through various online portals, students of grade-5 presented the pros and cons
of the same through a virtual assembly. It was conducted on 16 October 2020. Even though it
is a boon to be able to connect virtually, they shared how eagerly they wish to come back
to school. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers for providing nothing but the
best to them.
