Page 12 - Up Up and Away

The next morning was a bit cloudy, with rain in the
air. Twinkle got out her compass and thought about the
clouds. If she stayed on a southeast path, she thought she
could avoid the rain, which seemed a bit to the north.
She quickly packed up her tent, inflated the balloon
and went up, up and away to the southeast. Watching,
she steered between the rain clouds, with only a sprinkle
of rain and snow. She was very glad of her warm jacket
and hat. Just as the golden eagle had said, there was
weather. She hung on tight to her magic golden feather.
Still, she did get blown about for much of the day. The
sun was shining by the time Twinkle arrived at
Okanagan Lake. She headed north from Peachland
toward Kelowna and soon saw Grenfell Road.
