As they walked along, Twinkle had a thought. What
if Mirabel came on the trip too? There was room in the
basket of the balloon and enough space in the tent. They
could explore Canada and end up in Ontario with
Mirabel's grandparents.
When they got to the beach, there was no chance of
swimming. The water was choppy and covered in
whitecaps, the sky full of storm clouds and lightning.
"How about another day to play?" suggested Mirabel's
mum. When they got back home, Twinkle phoned her
parents and told them about her trip so far, and about
staying in Kelowna until the weather improved. The
Stars were very happy to hear this news. "I think the
eagle feather is protecting you," said Twinkle's mum.
They had so much fun that day, picking cherries with
Mirabel's dad, a really good reacher. They had red
tongues and chins, but not blue.
