Ode to Football
Through all the eighteen years I’ve been alive
I’ve found no greater thrill that playing ball;
A sport that really makes one live and thrive;
The greatest sport of all those in the fall.
Football is like an ancient battlefield
On which the bravest soldiers fight and die.
Their best defense is the courage they wield
And the brute strength that makes all enemies cry.
A game that also builds character traits,
It shapes the man that one will grow to be.
It molds the team into more than teammates,
Building rather a close-knit family.
How does one describe such an awesome game?
To do so, simply learn each player’s name.
