2. The Project

This is a summary of the projected logistics center operation. Detailed
descriptions are included in later chapters.

The enterprise will use the existing barge loading and unloading equipment
located at the ANNP government port facility in Villeta and will transfer the
containers from the barges to the referred terminal.

Imported containers will be delivered to customers located in Asuncion as well as
in the rest of the country. The export operation consists of the consolidation of
the containers with the products to be exported such as grain and meat. From the
export area in the terminal, those containers will be trucked to the ANNP port
authority and loaded on to the barges. The operation will consist of the following:

                          • Container terminal and empty container operation.
                          • Container deconsolidation operation.
                          • Grain storage and container operation.
                          • Meat cold/ freezer storage and reefers operation.
                          • Vehicles and machinery operation.

The site consists of a 32-hectare plot with covered warehouse and auxiliary
facilities. The Villeta Port is a government owned facility managed by the Port
Authority. It has all the required equipment for loading and unloading barges.
