AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM SYSTEM NOW IN FULL OPERATION

Mayor J. J. Ladd stepped
up to fire alarm box 112,
at the corner of Bernard
Ave. & Water St. and
pulled the lever...
instantly the new air
horn sounded the
coded signal.
A raucous, moose-like
blast which could be
heard for miles...the
one, pause, two, pause,
signal was repeated
four times.

Fire Chief Fred Gore is at the call desk...
this alarm system replaced the
telephone-siren-radio system.

Kelowna had a “Class B” Rating
with 47 Call Boxes placed
throughout the city.

This new system was the latest
and most advanced in fire protection.

While the city sleeps...
