                               A MISSION BEGINS








              1914

              At Sangamon and Jackson, the Catholic
              Social Center opened its doors.
              Inside, families found what
              they needed most:                                         CATHOLIC
              • Child care for working parents                       SOCIAL CENTER
              • Early education for young children
              • Meals for neighborhood workers      THE MISSION EXPANDED.
              • Support for women building new lives   THE IMPACT DEEPENED.

                                A NEW HOME. A NEW NAME.
                                MARILLAC HOUSE

              After more than three decades, the mission   Named for St. Louise de Marillac, the work
              moved to California Avenue and Jackson   remained grounded  in something steady,
              Boulevard and took on a new name,    caring for children so parents could work,
              Marillac Social Center, known to many    grow, and move forward.
              simply as Marillac House.

              THE ADDRESS CHANGED. THE PURPOSE DID NOT.
