ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CENTER
A PLACE WHERE CHILDREN WERE SAFE.
A PLACE WHERE FAMILIES WERE SEEN.
By the 1970s and 80s, the needs of families
were changing. We didn’t stand still.
We grew with them.
Programs expanded. Spaces evolved.
New ideas took shape:
• A merger that strengthened care
for infants and young children
• The first Catholic institution in Chicago to
focus exclusively on the infant and toddler
demographic (ages birth to six)
• New preschool classrooms filled
with energy and possibility
• An art therapy program where
children could express what
words could not
EACH STEP FORWARD
DEEPENED THE
MISSION, MEETING
FAMILIES WHERE THEY
WERE & WALKING
ALONG SIDE
THEM TOWARD
WHAT COULD BE.
