Day 4 Wednesday 11 th March 2020
Wednesday 11 th March.
Today our half of the group Walked to Mt Jerusalem-continuation of beautiful weather,
unique pristine scenery, flora, fauna - Bennetts Wallaby, a pair of soaring eagles, alas no
photo, a fledging eaglet who sat posing for many minutes before spreading wings and
gliding effortlessly off.
We returned to camp for lunch, then off back down the track to climb up to The Temple.
Wes again regaled us with so much information on this remarkable area. How incredibly
lucky we were on so many counts.
Descent of Mt Jerusalem.
As we descended we were fortunate to see a fledging eagle on a rock surveying the terrain.
After some minutes and with effortless ease it spread wings and was off! Remarkable to see
the calm beautiful lift off, how little energy used or required. Earlier had seen two soaring
eagles!
On return to camp for lunch a helicopter appeared (no, not am thankful to say, for me)! It was
required for a man who was sick, dizzy and could not walk out!
After lunch a wonderful walk up to The Temple, again with those remarkable views.
Staircase built out of dolerite blocks by remarkable retired 75-Y-O Parks and Wildlife man!
An amazing feat!
