Students work on their strength in the fitness centre under the guidance of qualified gym instructors
The PDHPE program at St Edmund’s School contributes significantly to the cognitive, social, emotional, physical and spiritual development of our students and promotes the value of physical activity in their lives.
We provide students with opportunities to learn about adopting and maintaining a healthy, productive and active life, habits that will stay with them into the future. The program involves learning through movement experiences that are both challenging and enjoyable, and improving students’ capacity to move with skill and confidence in a variety of contexts.
The Sport component of PDHPE focuses on improving and developing skills in team work, community access and understandings of the workings of different sports and organisations. As well as their weekly lessons, many students have participated in our extra-curricular clubs and activities before school and during lunch. It has been wonderful to see the students engage in a range of sports and games this year and especially to witness the incredible team spirit they display at our sporting carnivals.
