H. There is and There are
The word THERE in English means to exist or to indicate existence something or
someone. THERE IS is used to express the existence of a SINGLE object. THERE ARE is
used to indicate the existence of a PLURAL object.
Examples:
1. There is a doctor at the hospital.
2. There are four doctors at the hospital.
3. There is one hour left.
4. There are three hours left.
To explain if there is NO existence of an object then just add it NOT after to be becomes:
THERE IS NOT… and THERE ARE NOT ….
Examples:
1. There isn't a cat on the chair.
2. There aren't students in the classroom.
3. There isn't milk on the fridge.
4. There aren't books on the desk.
I. PRONOUNS
Pronouns means subject pronouns. There are 4 types of pronouns that we will discuss,
namely Subjective Pronouns, Objective Pronouns, Possessive Adjectives and Possessive
Pronouns.
