Figure 79: Harley's love of water sports was realized in many
different skills and adventures.
Throughout all the wide-ranging experiences of Harley's camping
adventures, he acquired courage, perseverance, a positive self-image,
true friendship, and the admiration of all his leaders, peers, and
acquaintances. His parents recognized that all these experiences
combined to build Harley's character and self-reliance. They refined
his boldness yet embellished his concern, empathy, and support of
others, especially those with visual impairments and those battling
cancer. Harley thrived with such adventure in his life.
