Though abandoned, there was no escaping the photo ops that
delighted the threesome. They explored the double-decker outhouse
which intrigued Harley. The lower level appeared practical, but a sign
outside warned, “upstairs closed til we figur out plummin."

It is perhaps the only known two-story outhouse anywhere. It
originally was a prop to entice travelers to stop at the trading post on
site. This ingenious idea worked and continues to lure sight-seeing
tourists to today. Harley found it to be quite an adventure as he
investigated the site.
