THE EXCEPTIONAL HARLEY FETTERMAN

Once, Brandon volunteered to help out at Parent's Night Out held
at Harley's church. This event was sponsored by Garrett's KidStrong
organization. Kids were dropped off as parents were given the
opportunity to do some last-minute Christmas shopping. Various
planned activities kept the kiddos busy having fun. One of activities
was making a Christmas tree ornament by squeezing glue into the top
hole of a clear glass ornament, filling it with glitter, and then shaking
it to create a festive work of art. Brandon got along well with all the
kids by joking around as he helped attach wire hooks to the kid's
finished ornaments and hang them up to dry.
One group of giggling kids, which included Harley, decided to
target Brandon with their mischief. As they finished the final
ornament, they asked Brandon to hang it up to dry with the others.
When he picked it up, Brandon felt sticky glitter and glue squeeze
between his fingers. The kids' hilarious shenanigan had been to apply
the glue and glitter to the outside of this ornament. They fell to the
floor laughing hysterically and holding their sides as Brandon quickly
put the ornament down. Without thinking, he wiped his messy hands
on his pant legs transferring the glittery mess everywhere. The kids
gave Harley a play-by-play description as the prank unfolded. At that
moment, feeling outwitted beyond belief, Brandon realized that this
was the hardest he had ever seen Harley laugh and found himself
joining in to laugh at the ridiculous pleasure of his own exploitation.
