FULFILLING MUSICAL PASSION:
FULFILLING MUSICAL PASSION:
How Many Instruments Can You Play?
Harley excelled at musical expression. He started to play piano
when he was just six years old. He learned to play the French horn in
sixth grade. He used Braille musical notation to read sheet music
when he played in the Bailey Middle School Band. This provided a
strong platform from which he developed his own personal musical
expression—a permanent feature of his personality.
His favorite instrument was the guitar which he first started
learning to play during his Sophomore year in High School. Even as
he continued to master the guitar, he also learned how to play other
instruments such as the ukulele, guitarlele, mandolin, accordion, and
saw. Harley, an excellent communicator, understood the universal
language of music.
