Being an only child meant that Harley was naturally close to his
parents who were actually his best friends. The threesome felt great
comfort in the company of each other and encouraged Harley's sense
of security, motivation, and strong sense of self-esteem. Affection and
loyalty were readily available to Harley since his best friends were his
mom and dad. Beth and Kevin provided him with strong family
values. It was acknowledged that they could rely on each other for
loyalty, respect, communication, and trust. All three shared
responsibility for caring for each other and naturally promoted
activities of interest for each other. This sturdy foundation for Harley's
development insured his resilience to tolerate difficulties and his
ability to adapt to any circumstance.
