parents and the school community effectively, and whose students
have demonstrated remarkable success. In 2009, Carolyn Mason,
Harley's VI Coordinator, was the recipient of this award. Consensus
among the Austin Teachers of the Visually Impaired was that Carolyn
Mason could virtually teach Braille to anyone. They felt that Carolyn
exemplified the highest standards that VI teachers should aspire to be.
