THE EXCEPTIONAL HARLEY FETTERMAN
In February of 2013, Harley again won first place, Jr. Varsity
Division at the Region 13 Braille Challenge in Austin, Texas. His
friend, Merlyn Hileman, was also a Texas finalist. In June, Harley and
his family traveled to Los Angeles arriving the day before the
competition, to allow for leisurely tourist time at the Santa Monica
Pier soaking up the sun.

Harley was evidently in the perfect mindset for intense competition
because he skillfully went on to place third in the junior varsity
division of the National Braille Challenge. This was his first time
placing in the finals.
