bait fast will be key to getting the most aggressive bites. If you find you are getting short
strikes, Boyd says to change colors. The fish are attracted to the movement and the sound,
but that change in color should get them to fully commit. It may take trying a few different
colors. Because Duckett Fishing focuses on just a few key colors that have been proven, it
makes it easier to rotate through to find the best color for the moment in time.
With each of the baits already mentioned,
Boyd says it is important not to be too fo-
cused in on the color that worked the day
before or even earlier in the day. Be ready
to make a change when the bite falls off
or is different than it was previously. It is
also important that instead of setting the
hook, just keep reeling as you bring your rod into the fighting position. This will help with
the hookup ratio and help eliminate jerking the bait away from the fish as they crush it on
the surface. A long cast is always beneficial

This is a substantially sized frog. Why? Why in the fall?
The Sneaky Frog EVO perfectly combines the strengths of a “frog bait” with the strengths
of a topwater bait. Designed to be used as a ‘walking the dog’retrieve, the lure can be
skipped around cover. The body shape and the hidden weight helps the action and gives
it perfect overall balance. A captivating and realistic design is guaranteed by the “natural
skin” effect on the body and by the 3D scale pattern. This is a longer and more slender-
weighted bait designed to skip way under docks and around timber without having to be
the master of skipping.
The design of the bait with the inclined hook set this bait up to have a greater hookup ra-
tio than most hollow body frogs. The body of the frog does not get in the way of the hooks
when the fish bites down. Another benefit
to the build of the Sneaky Frog is that as a
“walking style” bait, you don’t have to be able
to see it to work it. As you begin to work the
bait, you can feel the walking motion!
