When fish are not in a chasing mood or maybe a low-pres-
sure system has just occurred, or you are fishing a highly
pressured body of water. Ultimately, when bass don’t seem
to want anything. Well, that is a great time to use this pre-
sentation.

Some things to remember, smell and sound to a bass are
important, but not nearly as important as sight. A bass
must see a bait to eat it. Action is the key and is some cases
no action at all is the key. There is no doubt that using this
technique is a waiting game that can drive you crazy. An-
glers who use this “Dead Stick” technique has commented
about leaving the bait still for up to 30 seconds before
moving it or getting a bite. Because of this, It is important
to focus on high percentage areas and places where you
know bass live and places where you have caught fish be-
fore. These things tip the scale in your favor.
