this class will feature two or three centers and a take home art project each

many more! We will learn about their artistic style and what inspires their creativity. You will be creating your

• ARTcetra: Three Levels (K-2, 3-5, 6-12)-In this class the students will explore as many different art media as we
can fit in the time allowed. I like to provide all kinds of supplies and techniques to create with and to encourage
kids to be creative with what they have on hand. Drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, resist, pastels, etc.
will be used. Students who enjoyed this class last year will want to come back and see what's new. We will be
adding new techniques and projects to the schedule. All classes will culminate with an Art Show in the spring.

• Medieval Painting- (grade 9-adult) Explore history in a hands-on way as you learn to paint the way monks
guildsmen did during the Middle ages. Students will learn all about how color was used and looked at from the
Medieval World view. Use of pigments, grinding them, mixing colors, applying colors, transferring designs with
traditional methods and preparing grounds (painting surfaces) will be covered. The first half of the year the
focus will be on painting in glair, making paint from egg whites to create pieces that could be found in a hand-
illumined book. The second semester students will learn to mix color from and paint in egg tempera using the
egg yolk. Students should be comfortable with basic note taking and willing to make their own paints Teacher:
