In February 2020, Healthnetwork staff joined
George Myers and his family for a celebration
of gratitude at University of Arkansas for
Medical Sciences (UAMS). George, along with
his wife, Kathleen, and his sister, Mary Myers
Kauppila, made a donation to UAMS to
support ongoing training and education
of nurses in the transplant area. The Myers
family also presented Healthnetwork
Foundation with a donation in recognition
of the great care provided by Carol Akromas,
the Medical Coordinator who worked with
George to “change the odds” for his kidney
transplant experience.
