GRANTS PASS MUSEUM OF ART

he Grants Pass Museum of Art will begin hosting field trips
Tfor Josephine County fifth graders. The program is designed to
encourage students to learn about art and the importance of museums.
Individual classes will offer hands-on experiences such as exploring
the museum, enjoying the new exhibit, and learning from folks at the
museum about art. Staples is providing take-home goodies bags for the
students containing art supplies. Teachers will also get a curriculum
booklet featuring the principles of art and ideas on working art into
their regular curriculum. Because education budget restraints often
cut art education, this donation and grant-supported opportunity
allows young individuals to engage with their creativity and see profes-
sional outcomes of hard work. The field trips will begin March 13 and
continue through June.
