RYAN
MOON
Ryan Moon, a native
Southern Oregonian,
still remembers a
drawing done in pre-
school. Ryan took
many art courses
throughout his school
years, but listened to the voices that said you can’t make
a living at art, so he decided to be an electrician. But that
didn’t work for him, so art it was. He took art classes
at RCC and a three-year course at Southern Oregon Art
School, and later taught for six years at a private art school
that has since closed.
Moon’s art has been featured in local galleries and hangs
in the homes of many private collectors. Jim Wright’s
personal story, Shipwrecks and Storm Clouds, features
Moon’s artwork on the cover.
He currently specializes in commission portrait work,
incorporating abstraction and realism to create unique,
memorable pieces. He paints in his downtown studio,
currently not open to the public, but he is looking to 3rd
Friday studio openings.
YOUR FOUNDATION Ryan is father to two young sons, and credits his wife,
Janice, with being an exceptional life partner. “I couldn’t
do it without her,” he says of life and of going out on his
